“You Can’t Be a Princess” | Journalists from ABC’s “What Would You Do?” planted hidden cameras in a Halloween store and filmed shoppers’ reactions to a boy who wanted a princess costume and a girl who wanted a Spiderman costume.

This makes me very sad and angry…

I believe this has a place on this blog.

K so I just cried after watching this because it literally happened to me when I was a kid and it was traumatizing. “You’ll embarrass us!” is the part I remember most; parental shame was a recurring theme of my not-entirely masculine childhood. Hopefully some parents who might have reacted the same way as my own parents saw this and will reconsider.

Someday my kids will be whatever the fuck they wanna be. (unless they want to be hookers, in which case that aint happenin)
