So I saw the video of Demi Lovato getting “owned” by some guy on the X Factor. Basically, she said something about how people work really hard at their dreams, but sometimes it isn’t the right thing. He retorts with “That’s why you use AutoTune and I don’t.” Demi looked shocked, saying “Actually…” before footage cut to Britney dishing some rudeness back in his direction. Then he left the stage in a huff. My thoughts…?

What an asshole. I don’t understand why so many people have commented saying he’s like a hero or something.

No. He was nothing but a complete dick and a douchebag. He had a bad attitude from the beginning and Demi just told him how it was. She’s a judge. She can’t just be rainbows and butterflies to everyone.

Also, while I admit pitch correction is more blatant on her newest album, there’s no denying that Demi is actually a really good singer. Any modification of the vocals were for for the purpose of the album songs being as good as they can be.

On the other hand, while I didn’t see the actual performance, something tells me this guy was not very good. Pitch correction can’t make you a good singer. It just snaps your voice to match the notes, with different results depending on the singing ability. If you’re not a good singer, you just sound like a robot. If you’re a good singer, it makes you sound like a great singer.
